Paiton Energy – POMI Supports Strengthening of MSMEs to Compete in the National Market

Probolinggo, February 5, 2026 – PT Paiton Energy (Paiton Energy) and PT Paiton Operation & Maintenance Indonesia (POMI) continue to promote community economic self-reliance by strengthening the capacity of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). Through Technical Guidance Training and Halal Certification Facilitation, a total of 30 assisted MSME entrepreneurs are prepared to penetrate regional and national markets.

The training activities were conducted on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at the Recreation Hall of the Employee Housing Complex (POH 1) of PT POMI in Probolinggo Regency, East Java. All the MSME participants came from the food and beverage sector, including culinary businesses, processed food products, and daily consumer goods.

The program was implemented in collaboration with the Cooperatives, Micro Enterprises, Trade, and Industry Office (DKUPP) of Probolinggo Regency as the technical assistance partner. This technical guidance aims to strengthen the business legality of MSMEs while enhancing product competitiveness in both regional and national markets.

During the activity, participants received socialization on the latest halal certification regulations, technical assistance in completing documentation, direct consultations, and facilitation to accelerate business licensing processes.

In addition to halal certification, participants were also facilitated in obtaining Business Identification Numbers (NIB) and Home Industry Food Production Permits (PIRT). The program was further complemented by product photography and marketing copywriting training to support increased product value and MSME turnover.

The Head of External Relations of PT Paiton Energy Bambang Jiwantoro stated that strengthening MSMEs is an important part of efforts to build a sustainable community economy.

“Through this technical guidance and licensing facilitation, we aim to help MSMEs obtain complete business legality, making them better prepared to compete and grow. Well-organized and competitive MSMEs will become strong drivers of the local economy,” said Bambang Jiwantoro.

The Human Capital Facilities and Community Manager of PT POMI Rochman Hidayat stated that MSME mentoring is carried out in a structured and sustainable manner.

“Business legality such as halal certification, NIB, and PIRT constitutes an essential foundation for MSMEs to move up to the next level. Through this mentoring, we encourage MSMEs to become more systematic, well-organized, and to gain access to broader market opportunities,” said Rochman Hidayat.

Sumiani, an MSME entrepreneur and street vendor from Sukodadi, Paiton, shared that she gained many benefits from the training. According to her, the training provided a great deal of new knowledge on how to properly establish and develop an MSME business.

“One of the main points I took away is the importance of maintaining product quality. This has become a core principle that I apply in running my business. Hopefully, through this training, my business can continue to progress and grow,” said Sumiani.

Through this program, all participants gained a comprehensive understanding of the halal certification process and business licensing, and began completing the required administrative requirements. Going forward, Paiton Energy–POMI, in collaboration with DKUPP, will continue the mentoring through strengthening business legality, enhancing business capacity, business incubation, and expanding market access, enabling assisted MSMEs to grow independently and become competitive.

In environmental management and community empowerment (ESG), Paiton Energy – POMI, through Paiton bErsiNERGY, applies the Pentahelix concept, namely synergy and collaboration involving five key components: government, communities, academia, businesses, and the media.
