Jakarta, 28 July 2021 – In an effort to fully support the government and community’s measures to deal with COVID-19, PT Paiton Energy (the “Company” or “Paiton Energy”) has implemented various health and sanitation improvement programs during the pandemic.
During 2020 to 2021, Paiton Energy has distributed various aids, starting from sanitation facilities, medical equipment, food donations, to training on handling COVID-19 bodies and spraying disinfectants in places of worship.
PT Paiton Energy Chief Financial Officer Bayu Widyanto said efforts to overcome the COVID-19 pandemic must have the support of all parties. “Paiton Energy participates by directing the Corporate Social Responsibility (“CSR”) programs to help overcome the COVID-19 Pandemic. The program is in the form of donations and community empowerment,” said Bayu.
Paiton Energy has been handed over a donation to the Provincial Government (Pemprov) of DKI Jakarta in the form of 18 units of hand washing facilities. The sanitation facilities are located in Kota Tua, Penjaringan, and Cipinang Besar Utara.
The presence of these sanitation facilities is expected to make people behave in a clean and healthy life by diligently washing their hands to avoid infection with the Corona virus.
In addition to sanitation facilities, Paiton Energy has also provided 400 food packages to the Healthy Probolingo District Forum (FKPS) which were received directly by the Head of the Probolinggo District Health Office. The donation was then donated to the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) and accepted by convalescent plasma donors.
To support the fulfillment of hospital medical equipment needs, Paiton Energy has donated a number of personal protective equipment (PPE) which were handed over to the Persahabatan Central General Hospital (RSUP), PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (“ PT PLN (Persero)”), and the Probolinggo Regency Government, East Java.
The medical equipment donations consisted of 365 pieces of anti-hazardous clothing (hazmat), 300 boxes of surgical masks, 200 boxes of surgical gloves for Persahabatan Hospital, Jakarta. In addition, 1,000 hazmat suits and 200 pieces of surgical masks donated through PT PLN (Persero).
Donations to Probolinggo Regency were in the form of 100 hospital hazmat suits produced by local small and medium enterprises (SMEs) assisted by Paiton Energy.
Paiton Energy also supports the community by spraying disinfectant liquid on mosques to prevent the COVID-19 virus. In addition, the Company also provided training for handling COVID-19 bodies in 24 sub-districts, Probolinggo district.
According to Bayu Widyanto, Paiton Energy will continue to support the government and the Indonesian people to overcome the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, we are fully committed to continuing to prioritize the CSR programs with three main principles, namely contribution to the surrounding community, a clean environment and the welfare of the Indonesian people.
Paiton Energy is also committed and working hard to maintain the electricity supply from the Company’s units (units 7, 8, and 3) during this challenging pandemic situation to fully support the efforts of PT PLN (Persero) to maintain the reliability of the Java, Madura, and Bali grids.
