In response to the current COVID-19 pandemic, PT Paiton Energy fully supports State Electricity Company (PLN) in maintaining the reliability of the electrical system in Java and Bali by working continuously to ensure that our units (units 7, 8 and 3) are in well-operation during the pandemic situation which is full of challenges.
We have established efforts to continue plant operation to keep lights on, manage the risks by ensuring that we have maximized our stock of coals, chemicals, enough fuel and consumables parts for few months of operations, reducing the risk of our employees being affected and also preparing some back-up plans to handle this situation.
Paiton Energy is committed to implement all the required policies issued by the Government of Indonesia on COVID-19 pandemic including social distancing policy in office environment and large-scale social restrictions.
COVID-19 Measures
Paiton Energy has established pandemic committee to ensure all the business processes in Paiton Energy are in line with the COVID-19 pandemic policies of the Government of Indonesia.
Under the current circumstance, Pandemic Committee decided to close our Jakarta office from mid of March 2020 until further notice. All employees are required to work at home during office regular hours basically. However, to maintain their health such as walking around their houses and to buy some necessary items such as foods at store, they may flexibly use their time.
Pandemic Committee meeting in Jakarta is continuously going to be held at 10:00 / 16:00 every working day. All employees are requested to report their health condition by 09:30 a.m. everyday including weekend and holiday.
We also have continuously conveyed the personal protection to all of our employees to reduce the risk of infection spreading, weekly disinfection of the office and also established some new health protocols implemented in both our premises in Jakarta and Probolinggo.
On Paiton Energy plants in Probolinggo, we are implementing routine body temperature check for every employee before entering office/power plants. We also encourage and put into practice the correct hygienic practices (such as washing hands with hand sanitizer and soap, coughing ethics, and disinfecting the office). Interactions between employees and with outside parties including face-to-face interactions are minimized. Employees are divided into groups to back up each other in the anticipation of higher rate of employee absence during pandemic.
Donations from Paiton Energy
Paiton Energy is also committed to help the people of Indonesia in handling COVID-19 pandemic. We have donated medical tools (hazmat suits, surgical masks, and surgical gloves) to Persahabatan Hospital in Jakarta. Paiton Energy has also donated medical tools to the Government of Probolinggo Regency. Currently, we are in process of donating medical tools as well to the government of Indonesia through PT PLN (Persero).
