Probolinggo, December 27, 2022 – PT Paiton Energy and POMI revived the creative economy by encouraging the Company's fostered Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to penetrate the international market.

One of the steps is Paiton Energy and POMI in collaboration with the UKM-Mendunia Foundation to hold a training activity selling Village Products to International Markets. The activity was held at the PE - POMI Employee Housing Recreation Hall (POH 1), Probolinggo Regency, East Java, on December 3-7 2022.

The aim of the training is to raise local Indonesian original products so that they can play a more active role in the international market by way of socializing and teaching how to master marketing and shipping.

The training was attended by 52 participants who were MSME entrepreneurs assisted by PE - POMI. The main activities in the training are digital technology training and the use of logistics facilities. Chief Financial Officer of Paiton Energy, Bayu Widyanto said the training was aimed at helping MSME entrepreneurs develop their businesses, by providing digital trade training and distributing business results so that they are prepared to go global trade independently.

"Apart from that, we also see that this training can strengthen the added value of domestic products in order to be able to compete in the global value chain," said Bayu.

Among the 52 trainees, there were participants who were still young with an age range of around 17-25 years. In addition, there were also participants with disabilities who participated in the training. This is in line with the spirit of International Day of Disabilities which falls on 3 December 2022.

One of the MSMEs with disabilities who participated in the training, Elisabeth, said the training provided was the basic capital for the participants in building a business that would later be run. "We hope that in the future there will be more MSME training for people with disabilities, because it is important for us," said Elisabeth, who has a banana chips and soy sauce MSME business.

In addition, the MSME entrepreneurs who also participated in the training were relatively young, Ratu Elmas, said she hopes the results of the training would increase the knowledge and abilities of SMEs to compete at the global level. In this training, MSME entrepreneurs receive training, among others, to be good at selling through social media, good at researching destination countries, good at selling in international market places, good at scrapping prospective buyer data, and good at sending products between countries.
