Commercial Operation Date

Unit 7 commenced commercial operation in May 1999, followed by Unit 8, which started in July of the same year.

Technology

The technology used is subcritical, which operates below the critical pressure of water, allowing for efficient steam generation.

Major Equipment Suppliers

Boiler

The boiler system was supplied by ABB-CE, now part of General Electric. It is responsible for converting water into high-pressure steam.

Steam Turbine

The steam turbine was provided by General Electric, converting steam energy into mechanical energy.

Generator

General Electric also supplied the generator, which converts mechanical energy from the steam turbine into electrical energy.

Main Transformer

Hitachi supplied the main transformer, which steps up the voltage for transmission through the power grid.

Seawater FGD

ABB-Flakt Hydro, part of General Electric, provided the Flue Gas Desulfurization (FGD) system, using seawater to reduce sulfur dioxide emissions from the coal combustion process.

Coal Handling Facilities

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries provided the coal handling facilities, responsible for transporting, storing, and processing the coal before it is burned in the boiler.

Output

Generates a capacity of 815MW to supply a reliable power source.

Commercial Operation Date

Officially began operations in March 2012, marking a milestone in energy production.

Technology

Utilizes subcritical technology for efficient power generation.
